European Leagues oppose revamped FIFA Club World Cup and Nations League

FIFA President Gianni Infantino has finally unveiled the plans to launch Global Nations League and football's Mini World Cup.

US President Donald Trump's public demand for US World Cup bid could actually work against US interest.

The FIFA World Cup Original Trophy on Tuesday landed in Russian Federation, where it is set to embark on the longest host country tour to date.

In publicly backing the hosting bid for the first time last week, Trump also questioned why the USA should support other countries who might lobby against it.

Make a pitch for the 2026 World Cup. The Confederations Cup, which serves as a warm-up event for World Cup host nations, would be replaced by the expanded Club World Cup, which would see US$3 billion in revenue guaranteed for each edition by investors.

The EPA said in April that the waiver is "still being reexamined by the EPA under Administrator Pruitt's leadership". The EPA hasn't offered proposed new standards but has drafted new regulations that would weaken the rules post-2020.

The plans were sent by Infantino to the members of FIFA's decision-making Council which still has to approve them. He wrote on Twitter it would be "a shame if countries that we always support were to lobby against the USA bid", then used a White House news conference with Nigeria's president to call on African countries for votes. As the bid literature reads: "Morocco's sweet spot location will allow the majority of fans to watch (World Cup) games in prime time, driving Fifa's TV revenues".

Fifa's global format would begin with regional qualifying groups featuring promotion and relegation, which would then lead to intercontinental finals brackets in seven divisions.

While the Confederations Cup has a representative of each continent, as winners of their respective continental competitions compete against each other. Federation Internationale de Football Association doesn't want governments interfering in soccer activities, but it counts on them to provide support, often on exacting terms, for the organization of competitions. At things stand 206 of Fifa's member nations are eligible to vote in the one-country, one-vote contest and Trump has managed to complicate America's path to victory significantly.
