The adult film actress, who is now suing Trump and Cohen over an NDA regarding an alleged affair with the then-real estate mogul as well as defamation, has been a central figure in numerous latest national headlines, as her allegations against the POTUS and Cohen have ripple effects in the justice system.

During Watergate, the court ruled that a president could be compelled to comply with a subpoena for tapes and documents.

Daniels' attorney, Michael Avenatti, said Thursday on MSNBC that if the payment to his client was structured as a retainer for work that didn't occur, it may still violate laws.

Giuliani, meanwhile, lambasted Daniels for trying to extract money from President Trump.

"The first awareness I had was during the interview last night", Sanders admitted. Giuliani said. Stewart, the lifestyle maven, was convicted in 2004 of lying to investigators and obstruction in an insider trading case. Ben Stiller reprised his role as Trump attorney Michael Cohen while Jimmy Fallon returned to Studio 8H to play Jared Kushner, Scarlett Johansson appeared as Ivanka Trump, and Martin Short portrayed Trump's doctor Harold Bornstein.

Avenatti also spoke to ABC, calling Giuliani's interview "an absolute, unmitigated disaster for Rudy Giuliani and the president, a train wreck".

"I don't know when the president learned about it", he said.

The president added that "virtually everything" reported about the payments - which are the subject of swirling legal action and frenzied cable newsbreaks - was wrong.

But Trump slammed claims of an affair with Daniels - whose real name is Stephanie Clifford - as "false and extortionist".

Giuliani has spoken to multiple news outlets in the days since his initial interview with Hannity, as he tries to mitigate the fallout from his comments.

"A resignation", Daniels shoots back, eventually saying, "I know you don't believe in climate change, but a storm's a' coming, baby".

"Some time after the campaign is over, they set up a reimbursement, $35,000 a month, out of his personal family account", Giuliani told the Times, adding that Trump gave Cohen between $460,000 and $470,000 via this method to repay the sum to the porn star as well as "incidental expenses".

Either way, Giuliani said it's time for Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein to shut down Mueller's investigation.

"I have no knowledge of that, but I would think if it was necessary, yes", Giuliani said.

Conway, who said she was unaware of the payment during Trump's election campaign, also denied there was a credibility crisis at the White House. "I'd be living in some kind of unreal fantasy world where everyone tells the truth", Giuliani said.

"The admissions by Mr. Giuliani as to Mr. Trump's conduct and the acts of Mr. Cohen are directly contrary to the lies previously told to the American people, " he said.

The former New York City mayor also said that Mueller's team keeps "undermining" the potential for talk to Trump with them.

Mr Giuliani dismissed his own statements about Mr Trump's payment to Ms Daniels as "rumour". "I mean, what we witnessed by Rudy Giuliani may be one of the worst TV appearances by any attorney on behalf of a client in modern times".
