Qualcomm to launch new smartwatch chip this fall- here's how it'll change Wear OS

The supposed details of the two silicon modules are in line with what Qualcomm said at this year's Mobile World Congress when it suggested the Snapdragon 700 series is meant to bridge the gap between the Snapdragon 600 mid-rangers and the Snapdragon 800 family of flagship chips. Besides that though, there wasn't much that was revealed about the series.

The 10nm LPE (Low-Power Early) process is said to offer 27% higher performance with 40% lower consumption, compared with the 14nm one. It will feature a 2+6 CPU core configuration, with all of them being custom-made Kryo 3xx cores.

The ISP present in the Snapdragon 710 is a Spectra 250 with a 32MP camera support. It also supports displays with resolutions up to 3040x1440 with a 19:9 aspect ratio, similar to ones being used by most new smartphones. And now a new leaked image confirms some of its specifications along with a new chipset called the Snapdragon 730. Interestingly enough, the Snapdragon 730 will be built on the 8nm LPP process, making it the smallest one ever, manufactured by Samsung. Both chips will supposedly have the same Adreno 615 GPU running at 750 MHz, though Qualcomm's AI-specific circuitry may be exclusive to the higher-numbered chip. This is reportedly made in 8 nm LPP process which means it will consume 10 per cent less battery power, reports claimed. The GPU is an Adreno 615, with a dual-band Wi-Fi, BT 5.0 and SDR660 RF transceiver (this is the same as the one the Snapdragon 630 and Snapdragon 660 use).

Currently, Swansea is in the relegation zone, tied for points with Southampton with each having two games left. The Bluebirds won promotion from the Championship with Sunday's 0-0 draw at home against Reading .

The processor will also be more powerful though it will be in the same 2+6 CPU core configuration. The other six are efficiency cores and can work at maximum clock speed of 1.7GHz. Based on that, the chipset also supports WQHD (3040 x 1440) resolution.

There are some sizable upgrades as well.

The Snapdragon 700 series did mention better performance, but the Snapdragon 710 will not get a dedicated NPU like the Huawei P20 Pro.
