Teams hope to find luck in NBA draft lottery

The Phoenix Suns, a franchise that has never picked first overall, had the best odds of winning the top pick entering the National Basketball Association draft lottery Tuesday night in Chicago, and wound up getting it.

There will be multiple franchise-altering talents available with the 3 overall pick, though DeAndre Ayton and Luka Doncic will likely be off the board by this point.

"This is a historic night for the Phoenix Suns", general manager Ryan McDonough said in a statement.

In the June 21 draft, the Sixers will also be selecting at their earned spots, No. 26 overall in the first round and No. 56 overall in the second round.

It's part of a big week already for the Suns, who introduced Igor Kokoskov as their new coach Monday and now will have the chance to pick No. 1. The Suns also used the second overall pick to select Neal Walk in 1969, given the No. 2 pick on March 19, 1969, after losing a coin flip with Milwaukee to determine which team received the No. 1 pick and, eventually, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. Kokoskov coached Slovenia - and Doncic - to the gold medal at the European championships last summer. "Now we just gotta sit and see who we want". "I've watched highlights of the other kid".

Right-to-die group Exit International said Goodall started planning for his suicide after his quality of life began deteriorating. He was born in the U.K.in April 1914, just before the outbreak of World War I, and moved from London to Australia as a child.

The Orlando Magic will pick sixth, followed by the Chicago Bulls seventh and Cleveland Cavaliers eighth.

Ironically, that No. 10 selection, which comes via the Los Angeles Lakers, was originally acquired by the Sixers from Phoenix through a three-way trade in February 2015 that saw Philadelphia's Michael Carter Williams go to Milwaukee.

The Charlotte Hornets will go 11th, the Los Angeles Clippers will get 12th and 13th - the former coming from the Detroit Pistons - while the Denver Nuggets get 14th pick.

Despite being projected as the top pick and his desire to team up with Booker, Ayton is no sure bet to be a Sun.

The rest of the draft order has already been determined by worst to best record among playoff teams, with the Washington Wizards holding the No. 15 pick. The team with the worst record will receive no worse than the fifth pick; under the current system, the team with the worst record receives no worse than the fourth pick.
