The president of ABC Entertainment called Barr's tweet "abhorrent, repugnant, and inconsistent with our values".

After the initial tweet on Tuesday, ABC announced it was cancelling her popular USA television comedy, Roseanne. But it was still the most popular scripted show of the year so far, and for ABC to cancel it so abruptly meant Barr's comments finally crossed a line.

The talent agency ICM also dropped Barr as a client, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The revival of "Roseanne" received good ratings and was recently renewed for a second season.

The decision expected to cost millions of dollars and cost the cast of the show their jobs.

Barr is also an outspoken backer of President Donald Trump in real life and frequently voices her support for him on Twitter. Many conservative commentators and the president himself attributed at least some of that success to the lead character's backing of Mr. Trump. She later deleted that retweet, and retweeted others who called it out for being fake. Because Barr has been behaving repugnantly on Twitter for some time, feeding insane right-wing conspiracy theories and peddling anti-Muslim propoganda.

"I feel like half the people voted for Trump and half didn't, so it's just realistic", Barr said of the sitcom in January.

"Guys I did something unforgiveable so do not defend me", Barr posted to Twitter.

Barr continued on the diatribe against Jarrett, sharing anti-Islamist posts from her fans about the former presidential adviser.

Needless to say, if you thought your family was dysfunctional, you have nothing on the Rotondos. As Rotondo's parents sat quietly in the court gallery, Rotondo appeared to crave the spotlight.

One message she re-tweeted on Wednesday falsely accused the Hungary-born Jewish billionaire of collaborating with the Nazis. "I apologize from the bottom of my heart and hope you can find it in your hearts to forgive me".

In another tweet: "Roseanne's recent comments about Valerie Jarrett, and so much more, are abhorrent and do not reflect the beliefs of our cast and crew or anyone associated with our show". "I'm fine. I'm anxious about all the people out there who don't have a circle of friends and followers coming to their defense".

Barr was quickly condemned.

Earlier on Tuesday, Roseanne producer and comedian Wanda Sykes announced she "would not be returning" to the show either.

Following news of the show's cancellation, star Sara Gilbert - who also served as an executive producer on the series - responded to Barr's controversial remarks and the subsequent consequences.

Film director Ava DuVernay praised ABC entertainment boss Channing Dungey, tweeting: "For the record, this is Channing Dungey". - Chairman and chief executive of The Walt Disney Co.

Three weeks earlier, Roseanne was the toast of ABC's annual presentation of its programming plans to advertisers.
