Xiaomi Mi 8

The Xiaomi Mi 8 SE is powered by the octa-core 10nm Snapdragon 710 processor along with 4/6GB RAM & 64GB internal storage (eMMC 5.1).

In an event in Shenzhen in front of a packed-out stadium, Xiaomi's founder and CEO Lei Jun presented the flagship Mi 8, an anniversary smartphone strikingly similar to Apple's iPhone X, Reuters reports. Just like the Mi 8, the Mi 8 SE comes with an impressive price tag and translating the pricing from Yuan to Dollars, the price starts at $280 and goes up to $312 in China.

"As some might feel that the Mi 8 is too cumbersome for their hands to handle, Xiaomi has got that covered with the Mi 8 SE with a smaller 5.88" AMOLED display.

The Mi 8 will initially be on sale only in Xiaomi's home market of China, where the company will be hoping that the combination of iPhone X design and decent Android specs will make it an appealing prospect for consumers who can't afford the real thing.

In addition to the standard Mi8, the smartphone will land in an impressive Mi 8 Explorer Edition, which gets an in-display fingerprint scanner and a quirky clear casing on the back.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said earlier only Syrian troops should remain at the Syrian-Israeli border. President Donald Trump's recent description of him as an "animal", saying, "What you say is what you are".

The Mi 8 comes with a 6.21-inch AMOLED Full HD+ display.

The Mi 8 Explorer Edition is the Chinese company's coolest-looking phone yet.

The Mi 8 will run Xiaomi's custom MIUI 10 skin on top of Android (Xiaomi didn't say which version, but it's likely Oreo), and the new updated skin will feature gesture controls and a driving mode that uses Xiaomi's own Xiao Ai voice assistant. The Mi 8 comes in four colors - Black, White, Blue and Rose Gold - and, it ships with a 3400 mAh battery that keeps the entire package up and running. The Mi 8 Explorer Edition comes with an in-display fingerprint reader, a feature that is not present in the Mi 8 or the Mi 8 SE.

Meanwhile, the more premium Explorer edition will cost 3699 yuan, or approximately £433. While the Mi 8 Explorer Edition has the latest Snapdragon 845 SoC, the Vivo X21 is powered by the Snapdragon 660 SoC. The base model with 4 GB of RAM starts at US$280, while the 6 GB model will set you back US$300. It has a 110mAh battery that promises a 50 percent increase over the Mi Band 2, while a slightly more expensive variant packs an NFC chip that allows for mobile payments. While what's under the glass is confirmed by Xiaomi not to be a sticker, it may actually be a sleek dummy representation of what's actually powering the smartphone underneath.
