E3 2018: Microsoft Teases ‘Halo Infinite’

Discussing the future of its business during its showcase ahead of the E3 gaming convention in Los Angeles, Xbox boss Phil Spencer confirmed the company's engineers are looking into a streaming service.

Considering how much effort Microsoft has put into backward compatibility, I would expect the Scarlett devices to support current gen games but offer more advanced features and align possibly with Microsoft's upcoming game-streaming services.

US software giant Microsoft announced Sunday the acquisition of five game studios to bolster the development of its original gaming content for its Xbox One console.

Playground Games, started in 2010, is the developer behind the Forza racing series and has been a long-time Xbox partner.

Undead Labs just released State of Decay 2, and based on the game's engagement success, it's a no-brainer why Microsoft acquired them.

As such we'll be watching with great intent to see if there are any new announcements for games and franchises that're already established as well as perhaps some new fighters that Microsoft could have on the horizon.

The biggest video game titles weren't the only thing that Xbox announced during this year's press conference.

The trailer showed Frieza destroying what looked to be NY before Goku shows up. And that engine will power the game for both Xbox One and Windows 10, a major step for the typically Xbox-focused franchise. Microsoft announced 50 games at its event, 18 of which were exclusive to the Xbox system.

Playground Games is now working on a brand new open world game that's likely Fable 4, sources say. This will provide Compulsion Games all the resources and support they will need for developing the next level of futuristic games.

After the acquisitions are complete, Microsoft will have 11 game development studios.

Earlier during E3 2018, Bethesda unveiled two new next-generation games, Starfield and The Elder Scrolls VI.

Specifically, some observers are looking for China's Ministry of Commerce to finally approve Qualcomm's bid to purchase NXP. In addition, the company is agreeing to retain a team of special compliance coordinators selected by USA regulators.
