Salman Khan’s ‘Race 3’ crosses Rs 100 crore milestone over opening weekend

Users first noticed the same after the release of his latest film "Race 3". It showed good growth on Saturday and Sunday earning Rs 38.14 crore and 39.16 crore, respectively.

The superstar has gifted them his Eidi with his big budget action thriller, "Race 3", and they have returned the favour by going out in huge numbers to the theatres.

"Race 3 records a enormous start, despite pre-Eid making a dent in its business, emerges as the biggest opener of 2018 so far", trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted. The film will now face the wrath of weekdays but it seems Salman Khan's superstardom will not let the film slow down in the box office race. Following suit were films like Ready at Rs 120 crore, Bodyguard at Rs 144 crore, Ek Tha Tiger at Rs 186 crore, Dabangg 2 at Rs 149 crore, Jai Ho at Rs 109 crore, Kick at Rs 211 crore, Bajrangi Bhaijaan at Rs 315 crore, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo at Rs 194 crore, Sultan at Rs 300 crore, Tubelight at Rs 114 crore and Tiger Zinda Hai at Rs 339 crore. Salman Khan to his credit now has a record of most number of flicks minting Rs 100 crore at the box office, leaving behind stars like Shah Rukh Khan, Akshay Kumar and Aamir Khan.

Deepika Padukone's Padmaavat continues to top the list of highest weekend openers for the year with Rs 114 crore.

With 44 goals and 16 assists in 52 games in all competitions, Salah is a now the key element in the squad of Hector Cuper. However, the 25-year-old's participation in Egypt's World Cup opener against Uruguay on Friday remains uncertain.

Salman Khan's Race 3 has enjoyed a phenomenal opening weekend at the worldwide box office.

The film will have to pass the crucial Monday test to enter into safe zone. Friday 29.17 cr, Sat 38.14 cr, Sun 39.16 cr.

The highest opening earning for any Bollywood movie in 2018 is held by "Baaghi 2".

In spite of major reviews not in favour of the film - highlighting the poor screenplay, loose story and weak performances (but great action) - it has managed to pull audiences to the silver screen. Race 3 is a distant second followed by his other hits.
