Andy Murray explains why he decided to play Queen's

"I wouldn't rule out not playing a tournament next week and trying to get matches like in an exhibition tournament, as well, to get ready for Wimbledon", Murray told a press conference.

This opening-round showdown at Queen's Club between Murray and Kyrgios was predictably freakish, but what it lacked in quality in made up for in drama and entertainment as the 23-year-old got the best of the British crowd favorite with a 2-6, 7-6 (4), 7-5 win.

"I want to serve big and play big and try and win".

Nick Kyrgios says there's "no reason" he can't go into Wimbledon as a major title threat after fighting back from a set down in an "awkward" win over comeback man Andy Murray. I came out there, I was excited. "I certainly could have done some stuff better, at the beginning of the second set I thought my level at times was good; sometimes not so good".

He was briefly held up when an alarm went off in the grounds but was far too good for Millman, finishing with a flourish.

"I'm going to go out there and play like I always play", he said. With hips I don't know how tough it is to move around but I think the biggest challenge will be mental.

Djokovic, however, is delighted to see Murray back on the court and admitted he does not like to see any tennis player miss out through injury. What I always expect from him.

Previously, I would probably have done the one session with my physio and that's it but I need to do a little bit more now to look after my body.

Britain's Andy Murray of Britain in action against Nick Kyrgios of Australia during their first round match at the Fever Tree Championships at Queen's Club in London, Britain, 19 June 2018. The former world No. 1 is set to make an appearance at the Queens Club.

His comeback was highly anticipated as was evident by the crowd that turned up to watch the match on Centre Court.

Djokovic reacted to a surprise French Open quarter-final defeat to little-known Marco Cecchinato by suggesting he might not play on grass this summer.

In the women's draw Freya Christie lost 6-3 6-2 to Dutch player Bibiane Schoofs and Emily Appleton was beaten in straight sets by Australian Jaimee Fourlis 6-1 6-0.

That failure led to doubts over Djokovic's grasscourt plans.

"Today, I mean, everything, the focus was there, right intensity every shot", Djokovic said.

Dimitrov defeated Damir Dzumhur 6-3, 6-7 (4-7), 6-3, while Raonic was leading 6-1, 3-1 when his opponent, India's Yuki Bhambri, was forced to retire hurt.

The Scot will see how he fully recovers from his first game back before deciding on what to do.
