Spurs and Raptors agree trade for Kawhi Leonard and DeMar DeRozan

I think the Raptors are in the driver's seat.

Leonard played just nine games last season with the injury, but has been among the top players in the league since he was drafted in 2011.

San Antonio Spurs forward Kawhi Leonard (2) shoots over Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker, left, during the first half of an NBA basketball game Thursday, Dec. 15, 2016, in Phoenix. I think the Sixers have given up, and with the Nets, Bulls, and Hawks spending their cap space, it makes it harder to assemble a multi-team trade.

Lowe himself confirmed the Kawhi-to-Raptors rumours held weight, then offered his own fake trade proposal of DeMar DeRozan, Pascal Siakam and at least one first-rounder. Leonard also indicated in June that the Lakers were one of his preferred destinations. We won 59 games past year without Kawhi Leonard, he's better than DeMar DeRozan'. But while there hasn't been any significant movement on the trade front from either team in Southern California or with the Boston Celtics, one team has been making a push to acquire the two-way star. Additionally, Leonard would be ineligible for a supermax contract if he signs with a new team as a free agent next summer.

B-Town stars lose lakhs of followers — Twitter sanitization
Nyakundi's followers have declined from 1.2 million to 696,000, while Dela's numbers stand at 521,000, down from one million. Still, the former president remains the third most-followed person on the platform behind Katy Perry and Justin Bieber .

The Raptors aren't the only team that has called about Leonard of late. But the Spurs asking price - reported to be Brandon Ingram, Kyle Kuzma, Josh Hart and multiple picks (or: all of their assets) - was too high and the Lakers seem content to see how their talented young nucleus responds to playing alongside LeBron James next season.

Leonard has grown increasingly frustrated with his role in San Antonio and his relationship with the team and demanded a trade before free agency began.

ESPN's Chris Haynes reports that Leonard has no desire to play in Toronto.

That number is likely larger, but it's nonetheless notable for a sluggishly-moving situation for the Spurs, who have not received impressive-enough offers for their swingman with one year left on his contract and a reported expectation he would like to join the Los Angeles Lakers.
