According to EarthSky, it's the longest total lunar eclipse of the 21st century. The eclipse will be noticeable from nations in Central Asia, Europe, Africa, South America, and Australia.

However the one hour 43 minute duration of the eclipse is just four minutes off the maximum possible length, according to NASA. The partial eclipses that lead up to and follow the total eclipse will last an hour and 6 minutes each.

A blood moon is a non-scientific term given to a total lunar eclipse - which is when the path of the Earth's orbit lines up directly between the sun and the moon - because of the colour the moon appears to be in while it moves into Earth's shadow.

A "super blue blood moon" is a combination of a supermoon, blue moon and lunar eclipse.

A lunar eclipse only occurs when the sun, earth, and moon are aligned when our planet's satellite passes directly behind the Earth into its umbra (shadow). This glorious sight occurs because of the way sunlight bends (refracts) through the Earth's atmosphere. Here are the timings to watch Lunar Eclipse in India on July 27, 2018. "If there are extra particles in the atmosphere, from say a recent volcanic eruption, the moon will appear a darker shade of red".

Stages and time of the lunar eclipse that will be visible in Singapore on July 28, 2018.

"It will last several hours - when you get a real feeling of the Earth and moon shifting in space", astronomer Tom Kerss, of the Royal Observatory Greenwich, which will live stream the eclipse, told The Guardian.

Limassol and Dubai will offer some of the best views of the full eclipse beginning at 10:30 p.m. and 11:30 p.m local time.

Because of this, it gives the moon a reddish-orange colour on the moon, which is why it's called a blood moon.

Unfortunately, the celestial show won't be visible in North America. So, from start to finish, the moon spends almost 4 hours crossing under Earth's dark shadow.

He explains "So the Lord said "you need to go check it out" and I did and I found out it's the longest Blood Moon of the century". Mars is also safe to view with the naked eye.

And do not forget to try and catch the event as soon as you can because the moon will only be in a state of total eclipse until 11.15 pm when it will start to emerge and regain its normal appearance.

In the USA, the lunar eclipse will start around 1:14 p.m. ET, and the maximum period of totality will start around 4:21 p.m. ET, making it too light outside for the blood moon to be visible, Petro said. The approach of Mars on July 31 will bring the two planets closest and the planet Mars to be seen brightest since 2003.
