"Wait, no sirens please, right?" she asks as the dispatcher says, "No no, this is a medical emergency".

Citing production issues, Lovato postponed the South American portion of her tour in April.

'The overdose has been a wake-up call to Demi that she needs to get more serious about her sobriety and is telling friends and family she will do everything it takes to get back to the fantastic place she was in before she slipped'. In the song she sings, "I'm sorry for the fans I lost who watched me fall again".

"The entire floor is basically on lockdown with the rooms next to hers remaining vacant to give her the upmost privacy".

Lovato was next scheduled to perform on Thursday in Atlantic City, New Jersey, but her appearance has been canceled, a spokesperson for Live Nation confirmed to CNN.

"Tonight I took the stage, a new person with a new life", she tweeted. She has spoken out about her battles with drugs and alcohol over the years, and she's become a role model for young women and men who have faced their own issues.

And I'm sorry for the misunderstanding that caused my ill-worded tweet. Jarrett, for her part, has largely sidestepped the controversy.

The entertainment world outpoured support onto Lovato this week, including Ellen DeGeneres, Bruno Mars, Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande. "If I know my monsters as well as I believe I do, we all wish you self-compassion and inner peace".

Lovato, who was a child actress on the TV series "Barney & Friends", broke on the scene as a teen on the Disney Channel film "Camp Rock" and the network series "Sonny with a Chance". She will be leaving the hospital and heading straight to rehab.

She emerged with the album "Unbroken" in 2011, detailing her recovery in the ballad "Skyscraper".

The latest update is that Demi is ready to be released from hospital and it's been claimed that she's set to take some time away to go into rehab.
