The Champions League draw starts at 7pm United Kingdom time on Thursday, with Liverpool now knowing their pot.

With Benfica securing an impressive 5-2 aggregate win over PAOK, they joined the likes of Borussia Dortmund and AS Roma in pot two at the expense of the Reds.

Two of the Premier League's three other representatives in the draw - Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur - are placed in Pot 2 but are not permitted to be drawn against a fellow English side, while Manchester City take a berth in Pot 1, as Premier League champions.

Liverpool reached the final of the Champions League last season, only to lose 3-1 to Real Madrid in Kiev. No teams from the same country can be drawn in the same group and Uefa has also ruled that clubs from Russian Federation and Ukraine cannot face one another.

Another team taking their place in the second best pot is a certain Manchester United.

What pots are each team in?

Qualification for the competition was completed last night with three teams completing the 32-side line-up.

South Korea Urges More US-North Korea Talks
The U.S. has been calling on China to strictly enforce wide-ranging United Nations sanctions targeting North Korea's economy. Pompeo and Trump have both promised Kim Jong Un a prosperous future for North Korea should he abandon nuclear weapons.

Scottish champions Celtic miss out on Thursday's draw having been knocked out by AEK Athens in the third qualifying round earlier this month.

Huge clubs lurk in every pot, so there is every chance of a "group of death" scenario unfolding when the draw is made.

Where is the Champions League final?

For example, holders Real Madrid could conceivably have to take on Borussia Dortmund, Liverpool and Inter just to make it through to the knockout rounds.

But who else is in the competition, and what pots are they in?

The draw for the pool phase begins at 6pm Irish time at the Grimaldi Forum (live on RTÉ News Now and RTÉ Player), with the ceremony also seeing the winners of the UEFA Player Awards being announced.
