CBS CEO Leslie Moonves hit with six additional claims of sexual harassment and assault

Six more women are accusing CBS chairman and CEO Les Moonves of sexual assault and harassment, according to a New Yorker investigation published Sunday-a month after a previous report by the publication outlined accusations of harassment, intimidation, and abuse by another group of six women. "I think the most powerful media executive in America has now resigned in the wake of this Me Too movement, and he's my boss".

Per the New Yorker, "Several of the women expressed outrage that Moonves might be enriched by his departure from the company".

The CBS board of directors announced in response to the first New Yorker story that it had tasked two outside law firms with investigating the allegations against Moonves, as well as "CBS News and cultural issues at all levels of CBS".

CBS Corp. has reached an exit deal with Chief Executive Leslie Moonves, according to sources. Recent reports indicated a potential payout in the range of $100 million. In a statement to the magazine, Moonves acknowledged three of the encounters, but said they were consensual.

To make matters slightly more complicated, Moonves and CBS are now locked in a war with the company's main shareholder, National Amusements. Moonves actually pushed the CBS board to dilute its stock to enable them to oust the Redstones as controlling shareholders.

The CBS board, Moonves and Shari Redstone - president of National Amusements, Inc. and CBS' controlling shareholder - were engaged in a bitter business dispute even before the first sexual misconduct allegations against Moonves. The donation will be made immediately, the statement said, and deducted from any severance he ultimately receives. And The New Yorker reported that he'd said some of the incidents from his 12 accusers were consensual. Some alleged he forced them to perform oral sex on him, forcibly kissed them, exposed himself to unwilling participants and put the careers of those that rebuffed his advances in jeopardy.

Later, she says, Moonves told her the studio had no work opportunities for her. The news comes three days after a Huffington Post report claimed that Moonves had tried to destroy Janet Jackson's career following 2004 Super Bowl "wardrobe malfunction". "And I have never used my position to hinder the advancement or careers of women", Moonves said in response to Farrow's report.

"In my 40 years of work, I have never before heard of such disturbing accusations", the CBS boss continued.

More than 60 air raids have taken place in southern Idlib, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights. The Syrian government has been repeatedly accused of using chemical weapons in the long conflict.

Mr Moonves has been one of the most powerful executives in United States media, joining CBS in 1995 as head of entertainment and becoming CEO of CBS Corp in 2006.

He was promoted to president and CEO of CBS Television in 1998, and became chairman in 2003.

Ali tweeted this video of Julie Chen discussing Janet Jackson on The View, and noted how Julie Chen is critical of Jackson for failing to apologize while Timberlake did, which is "information she would know as Les Moonves wife...which matches my story".

Farrow, who is the son of actress Mia Farrow and filmmaker Woody Allen, won a Pulitzer Prize this year for detailing assault accusations against Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein.

Earlier this year, he uncovered allegations of physical assault that forced NY state prosecutor Eric Schneiderman to resign.
