South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster has ordered an estimated one million coastal residents in his state to move inland.

Helene is a Category 2 storm that's even farther off the coast than both of the other storms, but it's not expected to ever make landfall. He told The Chronicle Sunday that once Florence hits land, destructive winds and huge rainfall flooding may take hold of the area. The National Hurricane Center is now expecting the center of the storm to move between Bermuda and the Bahamas on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Hurricane Florence was upgraded to a Category 4 earlier on Monday, with President Donald Trump taking to Twitter to encourage those in its path to "take all necessary precautions".

The governors of North and SC and Virginia declared states of emergency far ahead of the approaching storm.

"Over the next day or so, the situation will become clearer and we'll communicate plans as they develop", Moneta wrote.

People are already filling stockpiling plywood, bottled water and other supplies.

Here's what should you know about the powerful storm's path.

A storm surge is created by winds of a hurricane pushing ocean water toward the coast.

For many, the challenge could be finding a safe refuge: If Florence slows to a crawl just off the coast, it could carry torrential rains up into the Appalachian mountains, causing flash floods, mudslides and other unsafe weather across a wide area. Hurricane Florence's offshore winds are causing swells and rip currents up and down the coast.

Packers' McCarthy noncommittal on Rodgers' status against Vikings
Kizer was the Packers' quarterback for two series and produced two of the most embarrassing turnovers I've ever seen. He said he plans to play in Green Bay's Week 2 meeting with another NFC North foe, the Minnesota Vikings .

It was centered about 1,230 miles east-southeast of Cape Fear, North Carolina, and moving west at 13 mph.

Hurricane Isaac has seriously weakened recently due to the wind shear in the Atlantic.

The US military said it was sending an advance team to Raleigh, North Carolina, to coordinate with state and local authorities.

According to NPR.org, forecasters expect Florence to reach maximum sustained winds of 150 miles per hour over the next 36 hours. State officials say 245,000 people live in the affected area, but officials warned the storm could affect the entire state.

Florida governor Rick Scott, whose state experiences the most hurricane-force storms in the USA, pledged resources, expertise and guidance to the three states in which emergencies have been declared.

Concerns for the Carolinas the Virginia are increasing by the hour as the forecast models are starting to agree on a track that heads toward the region.

This is the most powerful storm to take aim at the U.S. mainland this year and could be upgraded to a Category Five with winds higher than 157mph.

The wild horses that make their homes on the coast of the Tar Heel state are staying put, and they might be better prepared to outlast a storm than anyone.

Three hurricanes are lining up in the Atlantic as if in cue marked by the calendar.
