For starters, it turns out that players will lose their cloud saves if they choose not to renew their Switch Online subscription.

The Nintendo Switch online app seems as if it has been in hibernation for the past year but it may start to raise its head for the launch of the Switch online service. The first are the wireless NES controllers that were unveiled during the latest Nintendo Direct.

The Switch version of the game is being developed by Panic Button, which previously brought games such as DOOM and Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus over to the system in the past year.

Smartphone App. The app, like online play, has been free up to this point. Cloud saves are offered for free in perpetuity on Xbox Live. It's hardly an elegant solution, but it does work - Splatoon 2 already has support for this feature. These include a cute customised console with a Poke Ball Plus and the Let's Go Pikachu game. So if your machine gets lost or is damaged, you've lost the many hours of progress you've put in. When asked by CNET for comment on the decision to make Fortnite and other titles exempt from the online service requirement, Nintendo replied vaguely, "Various factors could determine if a game requires the service". Splatoon 2, Dark Souls and Federation Internationale de Football Association 19 will all have cloud saves disabled, and other titles may have the feature turned off in the future.

But if you're doubting the service or don't know just how much you'll be using it, there's going to be a trial available. However, for Super Smash Bros. enthusiasts, there was some important news about when they can expect to get their hands not only on the title but some themed hardware too. 3 and Donkey Kong. Nintendo Switch is a very popular console built by the company, there will be drastic changes due to this decision.

For those still playing with the Nintendo 3DS, Kirby's Extra Epic Yarn was announced.
