Authorities said Saturday one man is missing after a flight crashed into the sea a day earlier off a small island in Micronesia.

Earlier today Air Niugini reported that it can not account for one male passenger and is working with local authorities, hospitals and investigators to locate this passenger, who was on board flight PX 073.

Air Niugini chairman Kosta Constaninou said witnesses reported seeing the passenger board a dinghy as USA divers and locals rescued the passengers and crew from the sinking plane.

The men compared headcounts of passengers and crew originally on the plane, and the number who boarded a host of small boats that also raced to the rescue.

An Air Niugini spokeswoman did not immediately respond on Monday to a request for an update on the search for the passenger and for details including his nationality.

The agency is now providing assistance to the nine seafarers who were among the 47 passengers of Air Niugini Boeing 737-800 aircraft.

Jaynes said people on the plane were in water up to their waists and used the emergency exit to escape.

Ford also referred to the "sequelae" of the attack, which is defined as "abnormal conditions resulting from a previous disease". There are now 43 Republicans who have pledged their vote to Kavanaugh, seven short of the 50 votes needed in the Senate.

Harris said initial reports suggested the plane was too low as it prepared to land and ended up short of the runway.

"I thought we landed hard", he said. Two Australians were on board the aircraft at the time of the crash. "The aircraft had 35 passengers and 12 crew members on-board, all of whom were able to safely evacuate the aircraft". "I thought "this is not the way it's supposed to happen".

Locals in the Federated States of Micronesia were quick to react and by that saved lives when an aircraft overshot a runway and plunged into a lagoon.

He said the flight attendants were yelling, and that he suffered a minor head injury.

"I was really impressed with the locals", said Jaynes. However, Jaynes said the only scenario he can imagine is that it hit the end of the runway and continued into the water.

In the "Miracle on the Hudson", both engines on a U.S. Airways jet failed after it struck a flock of geese during takeoff from New York's LaGuardia Airport.

Air Niugini's chairman, Sir Kostas Constantinou, last night said one passenger remained unaccounted for.
