Eagles’ Jay Ajayi out for season with torn left ACL

Another important deadline is October 30, the date by which National Football League teams can make in-season trades. It's unclear if the Bill will trade him as he has two years left on his Bills contract. He was a key contributor to the team's first Super Bowl victory past year.

The Eagles lost their starting running back, Jay Ajayi, for the season due to a torn ACL.

NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reported on Up To The Minute on Tuesday that the GM had shown interest in a reunion with McCoy in the past. Last year, he suffered a dislocated wrist in Week 1 and missed the rest of the season. Ajayi criticized the Eagles' playcalling against Minnesota following Sunday's loss, upset over Philadelphia's 17 carries compared to 35 passing attempts. In reporting Cox' restructure, ESPN's Adam Schefter noted that the Eagles were not interested in Bell.

One of the top running backs, Steelers LeVeon Bell, may get traded even with his return set for Week 7.

While Clement is on his way back, Darren Sproles is probably another week away as he missed practice with a hamstring injury that's sidelined him since the season opener. Which would bring into play the eight figures in extra 2019 cap space that the Eagles created in the Cox restructuring, with the extra $6.5 million in extra 2018 cap space being used to cover Bell's base salary for the balance of the current season. Philadelphia is just 2-3 comping off of its Super Bowl-winning campaign. Or, of course, they could try to pursue trades for other, cheaper running backs or simply sign an existing free agent. He also caught one pass for five yards.
