Pippa Middleton has given birth to a baby boy, her first child with husband James Matthews.

Pippa, who is the sister of Britain's Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton, gave birth to their son on Monday afternoon, with the baby weighing 8lbs 9oz.

Just a few short months after her big sis Kate Middleton welcomed her third child Prince Louis to the world, Pippa Middleton is following suit.

A spokesman for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge said they were "thrilled" for Pippa and her husband.

A statement added: "Everyone is delighted and mother and baby are doing well".

James was photographed carrying two duffel bags into the hospital on Tuesday (Oct. 15), just three days after the couple surprised fans by making an appearance at Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank's wedding.

Swimming has been a major outlet for fitness fanatic Pippa throughout her pregnancy, during which she had to tone down her "five-day-a-week [exercise] routine".
