The Blues dominated Palace in the end at Stamford Bridge this afternoon, with Alvaro Morata netting a brace and Pedro chipping in with a goal.

Sarri has equalled the record for a manager going unbeaten at the start of his Premier League career.

Palace, seeking a third win in four visits to their London rivals, looked more purposeful in the opening half hour.

Chelsea will be looking to continue their good start to the new Premier League season when they face Crystal Palace on Sunday.

Chelsea are back in action Thursday evening, with Sarri's men facing BATE in the Europa League.

But when these two have come up against each other in the past, form goes out of the window, with Palace winning three of the last six matches, including beating the Blues side that won the Premier League title in 2017.

The Italian resisted the temptation to tinker with the line-up which secured a 4-0 win at Burnley, leaving Hazard on the substitutes' bench.

FW Willian, 6 - This was his 11th start in a row and while he generally looks more risky cutting in from the left flank, there was a noticeable lack of pop and imagination in his play against Palace's massed defensive ranks.

The German winger then had a shot blocked by David Luiz, who next delayed Zaha long enough for the forward to pass into space, his team-mates failing to keep up. Pedro's cross towards Morata was returned to him by James Tomkins.

Chelsea struggled to break Palace down for much of a frustrating opening half, but they nudged ahead with their first shot on target in the 32nd minute.

His introduction for the first time since the draw with Manchester United appeared more likely when Palace levelled after Luiz had been caught cold.

Morata had a header saved by Wayne Hennessey, but was offside anyway.

Sarri rested Barkley on Wednesday, with Mateo Kovacic getting the start instead. Wilfried Zaha ran and threatened, but neither he nor any of his teammates could convert openings and Chelsea cashed in when Morata neatly flicked home after making himself a yard of space in the penalty area.

And Pedro made it 3-1 by meeting Marcos Alonso's low cross with an emphatic first-time finish with 20 minutes remaining.

The three attack-minded players being considered by the old Trafford outfit are Moses, Eintracht Frankfurt's Croatia star Ante Rebic and AS Roma's Cengiz ünder. His attempted lob of Hennessey was poorly executed and held by the goalkeeper.
