OtterBox Defender Series offers rugged protection for 2018 iPad Pro.

If product destruction porn is your jam, the rest of the video is pretty interesting as well, particularly if you have an itch to see the guts of either the iPad Pro or the Apple Pencil. Most consumers won't be trying to bend their tablets, and it goes without saying that you should protect it at all costs if you spend the money to add a new iPad Pro to your collection.

But is it a bad thing that the iPad Pro bends? That's all great, but is Apple's newest tablet as strong on the outside, as it is on the inside? Beware placing the Apple Pencil in a pocket as it might not survive.

Zach Nelson, the guy behind the YouTube channel, JerryRigEverything that is popular for taking phones apart posted a video showing him tearing down an iPad Pro (the teardown is more torture involving a box-cutter, a lighter and other tools rather than systematically taking apart a device piece-by-piece).

Two years ago, Microsoft mocked Apple's "iPad is a computer" claim in an ad for the Surface Pro 4. According to Nelson, "the iPad Pro just doesn't have any of that structural integrity stuff". Like every year, Apple simply put together a roundup of brand new products that are available in stores ahead of the holidays.

If recent bend tests have you eyeing your new iPad Pro with concern as to how you'll keep it safe in your bag, OtterBox may have the answer. Most folks won't have to worry about seeing the iPad bend like this, unless they're aiming to break it on goal, but perhaps its thinness is a contributing factor to potentially damaging models in the future.
