Former Warriors swingman Patrick McCaw is practicing with the Cavaliers, who signed him to a two-year, $6 million offer sheet last week. Since McCaw is a restricted free agent, the Warriors have the right to match the offer if they choose to. McCaw's 2019-20 contract is non-guaranteed for $3 million. Wojnarowski adds that McCaw signing the offer sheet is alluding to the fact that he doesn't wish to remain with the Warriors.

McCaw appears more than ready to move on from the Warriors, and had been negotiating with other teams as the season progressed. The Cavaliers will get the opportunity to watch McCaw, a 23-year-old forward, for the rest of the season before deciding whether to guarantee the second year of his deal. Per Bobby Marks, the Warriors tax bill would increase from $50.3 million to $61.6 million if they were to match the offer for McCaw, meaning there is a major financial decision on the horizon for the two-time defending champions.

Bahrain confirms ongoing work of its embassy in Syria
In his recent remarks, Syria's deputy foreign minister said: "We welcome any step for the return of all Arab embassies to Syria". In November, the Assad regime said it would welcome moves by any Arab state to reestablish formal relations.

McCaw is in his third season and averaged 4.0 points in each of his first two seasons.

The team that drafted him, won two Finals with him on the roster and wanted him back this season, on a two-year, $5.2 million contract, with rotation minutes his for the taking.
