Bartomeu comes in to play with Denis Suarez

The Arsenal head coach Unai Emery has revealed that the club will be unable to make any permanent signings this month but are hoping to bring in Denis Suárez, of Barcelona, and the winger Yannick Carrasco on loan. The club is telling me each moment that different situations can happen for recruitment. My idea and focus, I say to him every day, is that we need his performance for us.

'It's not easy for him to play three matches in one week, and we pushed him and he was playing three matches during the week, but not ninety minutes each match, ' said Emery.

Another of Emery's former players, Sevilla's Ever Banega, has also been linked with a move to the Emirates.

"We can't sign with payment, we can only loan players in this window", Emery confirmed.

The Arsenal boss was also non-committal when asked about the future of Aaron Ramsey who is expected to sign a pre-contract agreement with Juventus.

The Gunners boss has admitted he has reduced the workload of some of his players to ensure they are in good shape going into the business end of the season.

Transfer: Sarri to make decision between Higuain, Wilson
England global Wilson has found the back of the net nine times in the Premier League this season and has registered five assists. Higuain had his most successful season under Sarri, breaking the Serie A scoring record with 36 goals in the 2015-16 campaign.

'Little by little Koscielny is feeling better and he can play consistently in the next matches, but I think he is getting better.

He said: "We can not sign permanently".

Emery added: "We are working with the players who are with us now".

"We both spoke about the situation with respect from him and from us".

Arsenal struggled with injuries throughout the festive fixtures but can welcome back a host of players for the derby at the London Stadium.

Meanwhile, the search for a centre-back to bolster Arsenal's threadbare defence continues with Konstantinos Mavropanos likely to feature for the Under-23 side against Manchester City on Monday.
