Raptors sign former Golden State Warriors guard Patrick McCaw

Patrick Mc Caw has reportedly agreed to play for the Toronto Raptors. More

One day before his contract became guaranteed, Cleveland waived McCaw. He signed a two-year, $6 million offer sheet with Cleveland, but was let go just three days into his tenure.

Reports emerged Tuesday that - at the request of the Warriors - the National Basketball Association is investigating the circumstances of McCaw's signing and release in Cleveland, after the Cavaliers released him before his salary for the rest of the season could become guaranteed. It was a weird situation.

In any case, McCaw is now a member of the Raptors, who will be back in action on Friday night when they host the Brooklyn Nets (7:30 p.m. ET - Watch on FuboTV with NBA League Pass add-on), which is a great outcome to this whole scenario for him.

The Toronto Raptors have agreed to sign free-agent forward Patrick McCaw, ESPN reports. The Warriors declined to match the offer.

He did not play this season until he was signed by the Cavs after a contract dispute in Golden State.

Healthcare Facility Chief Quits After Woman in Coma Gives Birth
Hacienda HealthCare said it welcomed the DNA testing of employees as detectives desperately try to solve the horrific case. Troublingly, the alleged incidents weren't reported to the facility's administrators until a month after they occurred.

The NBA is investigating the Cavs for possibility circumventing the salary cap after waiving McCaw. In essence, the Cavs would be helping McCaw escape restricted free agency.

The debate here is on whether McCaw and the Cavs may have acted in bad faith to help the 23-year-old get out of Golden State. The pick would, per the CBA, be lost.

The Milwaukee Bucks drafted McCaw with the 38th overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft. He cleared waivers and became an unrestricted free agent.

Cavs fans should be anxious about missing out on Zion Williamson (or R.J. Barrett, if you prefer), but the reason is the new draft lottery odds, not a possible punishment for doing Patrick McCaw a solid.
