While visiting the town of Birkenhead, England, on Monday, the mom-to-be, 37, is said to have told onlookers when she and Harry, 34, will welcome their first child.

While she was there the duchess was asked by one new mother if they were having a boy or girl.

"It's another team player as part of the bigger team", the Duke of Sussex revealed after sharing news of his and Meghan's engagement several months prior to the wedding.

Over that time Meghan and Kate appeared to put on a united front as they walked side by side to the annual church service on Christmas morning but perhaps people still aren't sold on the idea that things are happy families.

When the Duchess of Sussex's pregnancy was announced previous year, Kensington Palace released a statement saying she was due during the British spring, which extends from March until May.

Meghan told others gathered in Hamilton Square that she's due in late April.

"I could see her bump and I asked if she was having a boy or a girl and she said, 'We don't know whether it's a boy or girl, we are keeping it as a surprise'".

Plenty of well-wishers came out to greet the duchess in Birkenhead.

"I asked her whether she would call her baby Amy if she has a girl and she said, 'That's a really pretty name, I like it, we'll have to think about it'".

She told the crowd their baby was due at the end of April or start of May.

However, notably missing from the party was Prince Harry and Meghan, which journalist Dan Wootton claimed was "a bit odd" given the recent rumours of a rift between the two Duchesses.

They also paid a visit to women's charity Tomorrow's Women in Wirral and were even treated to a dance performance by junior dance troop The Hive from Wirral Youth Zone.
