Rudy Giuliani's latest media blitz, which was filled with a dizzying array of misstatements and hurried clarifications, agitated President Donald Trump and some of his allies, who have raised the possibility that the outspoken presidential lawyer be at least temporarily sidelined from televised interviews.

- August 28, 2017: Cohen submits to Congress a two-page letter about the Trump Tower Moscow deal, saying the project ended in January 2016, that he only discussed it three times with Trump, that he never considered traveling to Russia or asking Trump to travel there, and that he did not recall having contact with the Russian government about the proposal.

The Moscow deal ultimately did not materialize but Giuliani's remarks suggest that Trump's discussions about the project with Cohen may have dragged on months longer than had been publicly known.

The changing timeline is relevant in light of the special counsel's investigation into Russian interference in the election and ties to the Trump campaign. The next day, Giuliani walks back his comments, saying they "did not represent the actual timing or circumstances of any discussions". He denied the report from Buzzfeed that Trump told his former lawyer Michael Cohen to lie about skyscraper negotiations to Congress but said the two men may have talked before Cohen testified. He has long played the role more of presidential spokesman than attorney, often unleashing public attacks on special counsel Robert Mueller's probe into possible contacts between the Trump campaign and Russian Federation.

"Well, it's our understanding that it - that they went on throughout 2016". "Can't be sure of the exact date".

"The President also remembers - yeah, probably up - could be up to as far as October, November".

After toppling the mob, running New York City and mounting a presidential campaign, Rudy Giuliani is looking toward his legacy.

Victor Cha, one of the report's authors said: 'The North Koreans are not going to negotiate over things they don't disclose. The base doesn't appear to be part of denuclearization negotiations between the USA and North Korea.

"Our answers cover until the election". So anytime during that period they could've talked about it.

According to the report, those two officials claim that the negotiations ended months before they did so as to hide Trump's involvement.

Throughout the 2016 campaign, Trump bucked his party's orthodoxy and stunned his critics by repeatedly praising Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Rep. Adam Schiff, a California Democrat and chairperson of the House intelligence committee, said the panel planned to investigate why Cohen made false statements to Congress and determine what exactly Cohen and Trump might have discussed about his testimony.

Conway had already called Giuliani's Sunday comments "perfectly insane".

Giuliani has also been caught misleading the public about the project before; he has previously said that the letter of intent to enter into the real estate deal was never signed, until documents emerged proving he was wrong. Somehow, I don't think that will be it.
