Manchester United suffered a 2-0 defeat at Old Trafford in the first leg of their Champions League last 16 tie, making PSG huge favourites to make it to the quarter-finals.

Old Trafford instead became a stage for Kylian Mbappe to shine in tandem with Angel Di Maria, who relished the revenge mission on his return to his former club.

"We've got Chelsea and Liverpool in the next two games so whoever feels sorry for themselves will not play the next game", Solskjaer said. "Then again, that is the level we need to aim for at this club", the Norwegian said.

David Moyes was the last Manchester United manager to win a Champions League knockout tie in 2014.

It has been reported that a bottle of water was subsequently thrown Di Maria's way as well, and an item landed at the feet of United full-back Luke Shaw in the first half.

Lingard and Martial both went down with injuries in the first period and they were replaced by Sanchez and Juan Mata respectively. But it was the overall team performance from 1-11 that impressed and they succeeded in inflicting a first defeat on United since the appointment of Solskjaer as their interim manager.

The 56-year-old will give analysis at the ongoing Champions League tournament in the fortnightly football program.

Grammys 2019: Joy Villa's pro-Trump wall outfit
Villa now has a history of wearing conservative couture on the Grammys red carpet. The year before, Villa also used her look to send a message, with a MAGA gown.

"It was an experience that can go either way, it's not going to be a season defining one, it's one we have to learn from".

"But that's the level we want to get to, and we are looking to strengthen the squad".

"No, not at all", Solskjaer said.

"Sanchez's form has dipped so much that at the moment you look at subs to come on and make an impact, he's not the one".

United's cause was not helped by injuries to Jesse Lingard and Anthony Martial and Solskjaer admitted the loss of that duo's pace was a blow. He will miss the second leg in Paris early next month.

PSG's fans dominated in the stands like the team dominated on the pitch - during the game, all 3,700 of them sung "On est chez nous, on est chez nous" ("we are at home, we are at home"). "When he plays he needs to find himself because we know there's a quality player there", Solskjaer said.
