R. Kelly Pleads Not Guilty To Sexual Abuse Charges

R Kelly has pleaded not guilty to 10 counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse.

Earlier on Monday, Kelly entered a not guilty plea to the aforementioned charges.

The singer was indicted last Friday in Cook County, Ill. One of the charges describes a videotape allegedly featuring Kelly having sex with a young girl, "the victim". Valencia Love, a friend of the embattled R&B singer, confirmed paying the four installments of $25,000 for Kelly's bail, according to an ABC News report Tuesday. On the day of that hearing, Kelly did not show up to court.

It was reported over the weekend that Kelly's bond had been set at $1 million. Greenberg told Duncan and Gauthier that Kelly "hopes" to post bond sometime Monday afternoon.

"We're going to try the case in the courtroom", Greenberg said.

After a dramatic trial Kelly was acquitted in 2008 of child pornography charges, also in Chicago.

This tape is in addition to a recent, 45-minute tape in the hands of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, which allegedly features R. Kelly and a 14-year-old girl having sex.

"This reign of abuse and assault by Mr. Kelly is about to come to an abrupt and permanent end", Avenatti said.

The decision by YouTube was spurred by major advertisers, such as Disney and Nestle , pulling advertising from the platform. YouTube has said that content accompanied by inappropriate comments from other users could be demonetised by the platform.

In that video, Avenatti says Kelly can be heard "clearly stating" to the victim: "Give me that 14-year-old p-y", "Show Daddy that 14-year-old p-y", "Spread those legs and show me that 14-year-old p-y", and "Give me that 14-year-old booty hole".

Among the conditions of release is that Kelly have no contact with females younger than 18.

The walls began closing in on Kelly after the release of a BBC documentary about him a year ago and the multipart Lifetime documentary "Surviving R. Kelly", which aired last month.

A girl who attended Kelly's child pornography trial in 2008 got his autograph after a court session. The singer has been in jail since he turned himself in to authorities late Friday.

"This is someone who should be wealthy at this stage of his career", Greenberg said last week. However, the 52-year-old singer remains in police custody after not being able to post bail.

"He's a rock star". A vehicle stereo blasted "I Believe I Can Fly" as a fan sang along. Greenberg said Kelly denies the allegations.

R. Kelly is being charged for soliciting an underage girl for sexual abuse, as well as a year-long sexual relationship with a girl that he met when she was 16-years-old.

Aggravated criminal sexual abuse is a Class 2 felony with a sentencing range of 3-7 years in prison.
