New Dark Phoenix trailer turns Jean Grey into an unwilling killer

The next chapter of the X-Men universe is kicking off with Dark Phoenix.

This might be one of the sequences where we get even more death in the X-Men ranks, because Kinberg promises "There are certainly other major casualties in this". And if the epic trailer that's just been dropped is anything to go by, it's going to be seriously good. Now, the second trailer reveals that shapeshifting mutant Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence) is killed my an overwhelmed Jean Grey (Sophie Turner).

Some are specific to the device, while others are more universal and can also be used on other Android phones . The company did not give in-display sensor in LG G8 ThinQ and opted for a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.

Directed by: Simon Kinberg, making his directorial debut having previously penned First Class, Days of Future Past and Apocalypse. He gave an interview about the movie and the trailer to Entertainment Weekly, and confirmed the twist. And the only thing that's standing between her and the end of the world is the X-Men. People don't just fall off buildings and dust themselves off and walk away. "Maybe kill some. It's an intense movie, but we had fun", she said. Wrestling with this entity inside her, Jean unleashes her powers in ways she can neither comprehend nor contain.

It is an adaptation of the the iconic "Dark Phoenix Saga" comic book story, written by Chris Claremont, Dave Cockrum and John Byrne, which also inspired 2006's "X-Men: The Last Stand". "To dramatize that properly, you have to show real loss, you have to show real pain and show real threat and menace", Kinberg added. Even if she's revived mid-movie, and superhero movies and television shows have done this a few times, it's still an incredible spoiler to drop and lose some of the mystery. "Bad things happen to people I love". The trailer shows her coaching Jean, telling the young mutant, "You're special". "The fracturing of Jean effectively fractures the family of the X-Men", Kinberg says. Dark Phoenix looks flat and weirdly-staged, small in scale when it should be epic, and more than one cast member looks less than thrilled to be here. "Her death impacts literally everybody". And if you look very closely towards the end of the new trailer, what looks like a fiery figure can be found at the centre of the Phoenix's destructive vortex.
