Unfortunately, despite the best efforts of Dion, the first responders, and the hospital staff, Freeman was pronounced dead at the hospital at around 5:30 p.m.

"We are heartbroken to report that Janice Freeman passed away on March 2, 2019 from an extreme case of pneumonia and a blood clot that traveled to her heart", the statement reads.

During her life she was forced to overcome lupus, cervical cancer and meningitis.
