The Muslim congresswoman has also come under fire for a 2012 tweet, in which she wrote: "Israel has hypnotized the world, may Allah awaken the people and help them see the evil doings of Israel". To many of them, we're not minorities; we're simply privileged white people with undue influence in global politics. The measure will come to a vote on the House floor on Wednesday. Other than being an extremist Democrat, there isn't anything personal between Omar and Trump, at least not yet.

Ocasio-Cortez, of NY, told her 3.4 million Twitter followers Tuesday that "no one seeks this level of reprimand when members make statements about Latinx + other communities", mentioning an incident in which Rep. Jason Smith, R-Mo., shouted "Go back to Puerto Rico!" at Democrats during a floor debate this year.

The idea that taking issue with support of Israel means one is necessarily criticizing Jews as Jews ignores the last few decades of political developments around America's relationship with Israel.

The statement, which Omar has not apologized for, led to a firestorm of criticism from conservatives and Democratic supporters of Israel.

"I am told every day that I am anti-American if I am not pro-Israel". But they are mindful of how the increasingly aggressive criticism of Israeli government policy from Omar, Ocasio-Cortez and other liberals is creating tensions inside the Democratic caucus, where pro-Israel sentiment generally remains strong. The fact that no one seems to acknowledge that this is her complaint shows how spectacularly disingenuous Omar's critics are being.

The remarks, made at a Washington event last Wednesday, represent the third time that Omar, a freshman Democrat from Minnesota, has forced House colleagues to react to statements carrying anti-Semitic overtones.

Top Foreign Affairs Dem Rebukes Jew-Hater Ilhan Omar For “Vile Anti-Semitic Slur”

"Accusing Jews of having allegiance to a foreign government has always been a vile anti-Semitic slur that has been used to harass, marginalize, and persecute the Jewish people for centuries", Greenblatt wrote.

The latest controversy comes as Omar was the subject of an Islamophobic attack in West Virginia's state house where a poster on display for a Republican Party event linked the congresswoman to the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. This of course includes Ilhan Omar. A draft of the resolution specifically lays out anti-Semitic stereotypes like "accusing Jews of dual loyalty" as well as a condemnation of bigotry against Muslims in the wake of the September 11 terrorist attacks. "I am sure we agree on that!", Omar told Lowey, hinting that Lowey's support for Israel was not in the interests of her congressional district in NY.

A spokesman for Omar did not reply Monday to a request for comment on the plans for a vote.

But Omar doubled down on her comments on Sunday. After the second incident she thanked "Jewish allies and colleagues who are educating me on the painful history of anti-Semitic tropes".

Omar added that "I have not mischaracterized our relationship with Israel, I have questioned it".

Jonathan Greenblatt, chief executive of the Anti-Defamation League, wrote to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., on Monday asking for a congressional resolution rejecting anti-Semitism to "send the unambiguous message that the United States Congress is no place for hate".

Users have the option to remove their phone number from their account, though that would preclude using it for account recovery. Then click "Who can look you up using the phone number you provided?" and change the dropdown box from "Everyone" to "Friends".
