Huawei’s Next Flagship Phone Will Feature 10x Hybrid Zoom

Richard Yu, CEO of the Huawei Consumer Business Group, unveils the new Huawei P30 and P30 Pro smartphones during a launch event in Paris, France, March 26, 2019.

Large camera sensors aren't the only thing to get excited about.

Other specs of the Huawei P30 Pro are already known at this point.

Huawei P30 will feature the same camera setup as the P30 Pro except for the ToF sensor. The P30, on the other hand, will have a triple rear camera setup with a 40-MP primary camera with an f/1.8 aperture, a secondary 16-MP wide-angle sensor, and a 8-MP camera with an f/2.4 aperture.

The presence of the SuperSpectrum Sensor on both the Huawei P30 and P30 Pro enables maximum ISO rating of 204,800 and 409,600, respectively, accord to the company.

DxOMark A comparison at 10x, showing the P30 Pro on the left. The company says its new SuperSpectrum camera is capable of absorbing significantly more light for dramatically improved low-light performance, an area of smartphone photography the company dominates alongside Google.

U.S. troops killed on a mission in Afghanistan
Despite the talks, Afghanistan is suffering from crippling violence, with a record number of civilian casualties previous year . The Taliban insists on a complete US withdrawal, but representatives of the Afghan government want some continued USA presence.

The Huawei P30 Pro has four cameras on the back, including a 40MP main camera with an aperture of F/1.6, a 20MP ultra-wide angle lens with an aperture of F/2.2, an 8MP 5x periscope sensor with F/3.4 aperture, and a Time-of-Flight sensor. The Time of Flight, meanwhile, gives a real-time understanding of depth for bokeh effect. For the whole pre-order period you can get yourself a £40 card with any P30 Pro deal from Carphone - just be sure to click the "View deal" button below to be eligible to claim.

On the video front, the P30 Pro can shoot 2160p at 30fps, 1080p at 60fps, and 720p at 960fps. Both the phones will be powered by Huawei's own Kirin 980 processor.

The Huawei P30 and P30 Pro will be released in Black, and four new gradient finishes - Amber Sunrise, Aurora, Breathing Crystal, and Pearl White. The P30 isn't water-resistant to the extent it can be submersed, but the P30 Pro can.

Certainly in part that is the case.

The announcement comes a month after rivals Samsung unveiled their new flagship Galaxy S10 handsets. In night mode it allows more light, more clarity, and better detail preservation. We'll get a proper idea of how well it handles music and film when we get a device for more rigorous testing, but on first listen the balance feels about right with no rough edges and enough enthusiasm at least for casual listening. On the front of the phone is a 32MP selfie camera. Using a much smaller notch potentially means that face detect won't be as swift as we see with the Mate 20 Pro, but that's something we'll test out when full review samples become available. We did however manage to connect to rather slow wi-fi and stream a bit of Netflix.
