Joker teaser trailer introduces you to Joaquin Phoenix as Arthur Fleck

Joaquin Phoenix's Joker

Joaquin Phoenix's Joker

The teaser trailer for the movie was first shared during a presentation at CinemaCon yesterday, before being released to the masses this morning. The trailer of the film starring Joaquin Phoenix has been released by the Warner Bros. King of the Monster, Wonder Woman 1984 and It: Chapter Two was unveiled.

The Joker movie exists as its own standalone story, separate from the DC Expanded Universe and Jared Leto's face-tattooed portrayal of the Joker.

It begins with the character Arthur Fleck's pre-Joker life as he lives with his mother and works as a clown on a city street. Getting an actor as committed to frightening physical transformations as Phoenix will surely help, as will the impressive supporting cast including Zazie Beetz, Marc Maron, Brian Tyree Henry, Robert De Niro, and Brett Cullen as an asshole Thomas Wayne. The film is expected to bow on October 4.

"I used to think that my life was a tragedy, but now i realize it's a comedy", he says at one point, revealing the classic Joker look.

These lines echo the tagline featured on the film's teaser poster, which reads: "Put on a happy face".

Latest iPhone Rumors: Apple Adding the Stuff Samsung Already Has
The report also reiterates that Apple will launch two new OLED model iPhones and one LCD model iPhone in 2019. Added to this is the widely-acknowledged fact that the iPhone XR hasn't sold well - and it has an LCD display.

Superhero origin stories are played out and that just makes the Joker movie's first trailer feel even more fresh (and frightening). Expectations will be high nonetheless, thanks to legendary performances from the likes of Jack Nicholson in 1989's Batman and Heath Ledger in 2008's The Dark Knight.

Phoenix spoke with Collider in July 2018 about whether he was nervous to tackle the Joker. "There's been a lot of chatter about what this film is and what it isn't, and most of it hasn't been very accurate", he said. The cinematography from Lawrence Sher, who previously worked with director Todd Phillips on The Hangover trilogy and War Dogs is really impressive, and definitely evokes a gritty style without being overly dark or incomprehensible.

Joaquin Phoenix portrays the sadistic Joker in the upcoming self-titled film coming this fall.

Joker is set for release in United Kingdom cinemas on October 4, 2019.
